How plans work
Updated September 17th, 2026
This article describes how plans work on your Mimelis seller account: what a plan determines, how to subscribe to one, change it and cancel it. What each plan contains and its price are detailed on the plans page.
What a plan determines
Your plan determines the features you have access to, the quotas that limit them, and your transaction fees.
The features cover the visual identity of your point of sale, video, statistics, employee accounts and the other capabilities listed in the comparison table.
The quotas are the quantities those features allow: number of images, of points of sale, of employee accounts.
Transaction fees are charged on each sale. They go down as the plan goes up.
Each plan contains everything the previous one contains and adds to it.
Subscribing to a plan
You choose your plan from Billing, in your seller area.
The Base plan is free and does not give rise to any subscription. Paid plans are added on top of it and require a payment method to be registered.
When billing starts
The features of your plan are active as soon as you subscribe. Billing, however, starts when your point of sale is published.
Between the two, you set up your point of sale and we validate it. This period is not billed. The first invoice is issued at publication, and it is that date that sets your cycle.
As long as your point of sale is not published, a change of plan is immediate and free of charge.
Changing plan
The change is made in Billing, with Change plan.
Upgrading
The upgrade takes effect immediately. The features and the quotas of the new plan are available straight away.
The time remaining on the period already paid is credited and deducted from the amount billed. Before confirmation, the screen details the amount of the new plan, the credit for the period not used and the sum billed on the same day.
Your options are carried over to the new plan at no extra cost. An option that the new plan includes is absorbed into it and stops being billed.
Downgrading
The downgrade takes effect at the end of the current period. Your current plan stays active until that date. No refund is granted for the period already paid, and the change can be cancelled as long as it has not taken effect.
The change is refused as long as your usage exceeds the quotas of the target plan. The screen indicates, for example, which points of sale or employee accounts are in excess; deactivate them, then start the change again.
Whatever exceeds the quotas without being active usage stops being displayed publicly, for example images and videos beyond the number included, the logo or the badge. Nothing is deleted, and display is restored if you upgrade again.
The billing cycle
Your plan is paid monthly or annually. The cycle changes neither the features nor the quotas, only the frequency and the amount of the invoices. The annual commitment works out cheaper.
The rules for moving from one cycle to the other are described in Switching between monthly and annual billing.
Options
An option adds a quantity to your plan without changing it: additional permanent points of sale, employee accounts beyond those included, SMS notifications. The available options are listed in Billing.
Activation is immediate and billed pro rata to the time remaining on the current period. The amount is announced before confirmation.
Removal takes effect at the end of the current period. An option whose places are occupied cannot be removed: free one up first.
Usage credits
Some services are charged on usage once the limit included in your plan is reached, SMS notifications in particular. Usage credits are the prepaid reserve that funds them beyond that limit. Without credits, the service stops until the following month.
Turning them on, automatic top-up, the monthly spending limit and what to do if a payment is declined are described in Managing usage credits.
Billing and cancellation
Your invoices, your payment method and your plan are found in Billing.
Each due date gives rise to an invoice, which can be viewed and downloaded from that screen. Payment is taken on the registered payment method, which also serves for your purchases of usage credits.
Cancellation is done in the same place. It takes effect at the end of the current period: your features stay active until then, after which your point of sale returns to the Base plan and keeps selling.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change plan whenever I want?
Yes, with no limit on frequency. An upgrade takes effect immediately, a downgrade at the end of the current period. A scheduled change can be cancelled as long as it has not taken effect.
What happens to my content if I downgrade?
It is kept. Products, images, videos, orders and settings stay in your account. Whatever exceeds the quotas of the new plan stops being displayed publicly and reappears if you upgrade again.
Active usage, on the other hand, blocks the change: a point of sale or an employee account in excess must be deactivated before the downgrade is possible.
Is there a minimum duration?
No. No plan imposes a commitment period, and the Base plan does not give rise to any subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
What happens if my payment fails?
Your subscription stays active. A message appears in Billing inviting you to update your payment method and to settle the outstanding invoice. Prolonged non-payment suspends the plan, and the point of sale returns to the Base plan.
Can I go back to the Base plan?
Yes, by cancelling your subscription. The return takes effect at the end of the current period. Your point of sale stays online and keeps selling, with the features and the fees of the free plan.
