Understanding your visibility on Mimelis

Updated October 30th, 2026

On Mimelis, buyers discover your point of sale in searches, categories and on the map, and also find it from outside. For that, your point of sale has a certain number of visits every month: that is your visibility for the month. This article explains what your visibility for the month is made of, what counts as a visit, and what happens once it is used up. It applies to all plans.

Appearances and visits

Mimelis shows your point of sale and your products to buyers on Mimelis, and also makes them visible from search engines and AI assistants.

When a buyer sees your point of sale or your products in a search, on a page or on the map, that is an appearance. When they open your point of sale or one of your products, that is a visit, whether they come through Mimelis, a search engine or an AI assistant.

Only visits are counted. Appearances cost you nothing.

Your visibility for the month

Every month, each point of sale receives an amount in francs that entitles it to visits. It is made of three parts:

  • Included in your plan: a fixed amount every month. On the Base plan, Mimelis provides it free of charge.
  • Earned from your sales: every sale adds to it, up to a certain limit (see below).
  • Paid with your credits: what you add yourself, from the Pro plan, by paying for extra visits with your usage credits, within the cap you set.

This amount corresponds to a number of visits, at the visit price in force that month. It is expressed in francs, not in visits, because that price can change from one month to the next. The included part and the earned part start again from zero on the 1st of each month; they do not carry over. Your usage credits are only charged for visits that actually happen.

The included amount, the earnings per sale and their ceiling depend on your plan. You will find them in the plan comparison.

What counts as a visit

A visit counts once per visitor per day, however many pages they view. A buyer who comes back several times the same day and looks at several of your products only counts once.

Not counted:

  • appearances;
  • automated visits (robots);
  • visits by you or a member of your team;
  • visits from your own links.

Only the buyers Mimelis brings you are therefore counted, not the ones you bring yourself. For those to be recognised as coming from you, share your point of sale with your links, not with its direct address. You create these links and follow their visits on the Visibility page, in the Visits from your links block. For details, see Sharing links to your point of sale.

We do our best to rule out automated visits: our detection rules are updated regularly.

Earning visibility with your sales

Your sales earn you visibility. With every confirmed order of CHF 20 or more, Mimelis adds an amount to your visibility for the current month: that is your plan's earnings per sale. What your sales can add in a month is capped, again depending on your plan. You will find both values in the plan comparison.

In practice, the more you sell, the longer your point of sale stays visible before your visibility for the month is used up.

These earnings are added at the time of the sale and count for the rest of the month: they do not refund visits already paid with your credits, they cover the following ones.

Following your visibility

To see where you stand, open Visibility in the menu of your seller space. The Your visibility this month card tells you at a glance how many visits you have used out of those available, what that represents in francs, and where this amount comes from: your plan, your sales, your credits. The visit price for the current month is in the information panel next to the title; it may change from one month to the next, and the price that applies is always the one shown.

Further down, your appearances and page views tell you whether your point of sale is being seen, and the Estimated advertising value what these views and visits would have cost you in online advertising.

To receive an email before you run short, turn on in Notifications, under Visibility alerts:

  • Visibility for the month almost used up, when you have used 90% of your visibility for the month;
  • Visibility reduced, when it is used up.

The alerts about the visibility spending cap are described in Managing usage credits.

When your visibility for the month is used up

Once your visibility for the month is used up, your point of sale and your products are featured less in Mimelis searches and pages. Everything returns to normal on the 1st of the following month, or as soon as you restore your visibility (see below).

This reduction applies inside Mimelis. A buyer coming from outside, through a search engine, an AI assistant or a link, reaches your point of sale as usual, and it stays reachable through its address; you can still sell.

Over time, however, a point of sale that is often in reduced visibility may rank lower in search engines, or be cited less often by AI assistants. Staying visible all month is the best way to be found everywhere.

Restoring your visibility

You do not have to wait for the 1st of the month. On the Visibility page, click Restore now.

On the Base plan, there is one option: Upgrade to a higher plan. The included amount and the earnings per sale go up, and you can pay for extra visits.

On the other plans, the Restore your visibility window shows what is blocking you and the action that lifts it:

  • Usage credits turned off: while they are off, nothing can pay for extra visits. Click Turn on credits.
  • No visibility spending cap: the cap is what authorises the spending; without one, no visit is paid. Click Set a cap.
  • Visibility spending cap reached: you have spent this month the maximum you had allowed. Click Raise the cap.
  • General spending cap reached: all your pay-as-you-go services are suspended, not just visits. Click Raise the cap.
  • Payment declined: your card was declined during a top-up. Click Update payment method.
  • Insufficient balance: your credits are no longer enough to pay for visits. Click Buy credits.

All these settings are managed on the Usage page, as explained in Managing usage credits. If you prefer not to pay anything, your visibility returns on its own on the 1st of the month.

Frequently asked questions

Does my point of sale stay reachable when my visibility is reduced?

Yes. Your point of sale and your products stay reachable through their address, and selling works normally. What goes down is how much they are featured inside Mimelis. If this happens often, your ranking outside Mimelis may suffer in the long run.

Is what I do not use carried over to the next month?

No. The part included in your plan and the part earned from your sales start again from zero on the 1st of each month. Visits paid with your usage credits are only charged if they happen; unused credits stay available.

Are my own visits counted?

No. Your visits and those of your team members are not counted, as long as they are made from a browser where one of you has already signed in to the seller space. In another browser, Mimelis cannot recognise you: sign in to your seller space first to look at your point of sale without eating into your visibility.

What happens if I change plan in the middle of the month?

Your visibility for the month always follows your current plan, for the whole month. If you upgrade, the new plan's included amount and earnings per sale apply straight away, including to the sales you have already made this month. If you downgrade, or go back to the Base plan, the change applies at the end of your billing period; the included amount drops, your sales for the month are recounted with the new earnings, and what you have already used stays counted. If you had already used more than the new total, your visibility for the month is used up until the 1st of the following month. Your visibility spending cap is reset to zero: set a new one if your plan allows it. Visits already paid with your credits are not refunded.

Can the price of a visit change?

Yes, it may change from one month to the next. The current price is shown in the information panel of the Your visibility this month card.

Can I pay for extra visits on the Base plan?

No. Extra visits are paid with usage credits, available from the Pro plan. On the Base plan, your visibility returns to normal on the 1st of the month, or as soon as you upgrade to a higher plan.
