Rosa canina (L.) - Hundsrose - Eglantier - Rosa selvatica comune - Rose briar

  • About this product

The dog rose (Rosa canina) is an easy-going wild rose with fragrant, pale pink flowers that thrives in partly shaded to sunny spots. Depending on altitude, it blooms from May to June. After flowering it sets glossy red, oval rose hips, making it an asset in kitchen gardens, hedges and landscaping. The edible hips are among the most popular wild fruits for fruit teas, jam or purée. They are not only tasty but true vitamin powerhouses, providing plenty of vitamin C and trace elements.
